About Ray Cates

Ray Cates is a writer and teacher in Ocala Florida.  He has lived in Ocala since 1957.  He grew up in Elizabethton Tenn.  Served in the U.S. Navy and Air Force. 

In 1961 he was part of the invasion force at the Bay of Pigs in Cuba. 

He graduated from the Univ. of Florida with a BAE and MA and also from Blackstone School of Law with a LLB.  He also attended Stetson Univ., Liberty Univ., in graduate studies.

He taught at the University of Florida as a graduate student.  He also taught at Webster College, City College and a long list of secondary schools.  He owns Oceans High School http://oceanshighschool.com
